Read articleLiquid Fertilizer (NPK) weighs 1.2 kg per litre. Convert litres to kilograms (and back) using its exact density.
1 liter of Liquid Fertilizer (NPK) weighs approximately 1.2 kilograms (or 1200 grams) at standard room temperature. Because mass equals volume multiplied by density (\(m = V \times \rho\)), multiplying volume in liters by 1.2 gives the exact mass in kg.
Liquid Fertilizer (NPK) has a density of 1.2 kg/L, which makes it 20% heavier than water. Concentrated NPK liquid fertiliser is a salt solution at around 1.2 kg/L, so it is heavier than water.
Farm dosing, greenhouse feed tanks, drum transport and calibrating sprayers.
Grades vary: UAN-32 nitrogen solution is 1.32 kg/L, whereas lower-strength NPK blends are near 1.1.
Type the volume in litres. The calculator is preset to Liquid Fertilizer (NPK) at 1.2 kg/L.
Flip to kilograms → litres to find how much space a given weight of liquid fertilizer (npk) takes up.
See kilograms, pounds, millilitres and gallons. Each litre adds 1.2 kg.
Concentrated NPK liquid fertiliser is a salt solution at around 1.2 kg/L, so it is heavier than water. To convert, multiply the volume in litres by 1.2. To go the other way, divide the weight in kilograms by 1.2.
kg = Litres × 1.2
L = kg ÷ 1.2
1 L → 1.2 kg
10 L → 12 kg
100 L → 120 kgConvert 5 litres of liquid fertilizer (npk) to kilograms: 5 × 1.2 = 6 kg, or 13.23 lb. Reversed: 6 kg ÷ 1.2 = 5 L.
| Scenario | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 1 L of liquid fertilizer (npk) | 1 × 1.2 kg/L | 1.2 kg |
| 5 L of liquid fertilizer (npk) | 5 × 1.2 kg/L | 6 kg |
| 20 L of liquid fertilizer (npk) | 20 × 1.2 kg/L | 24 kg |
| 100 L of liquid fertilizer (npk) | 100 × 1.2 kg/L | 120 kg |
| 10 kg of liquid fertilizer (npk) (reverse) | 10 ÷ 1.2 kg/L | 8.33 L |

Usually by volume on the label, but nutrient content is by weight, so density links the two.
1 litre of liquid fertilizer (npk) weighs 1.2 kg (1200 grams, or 2.65 lb), using a density of 1.2 kg/L.
1 kg of liquid fertilizer (npk) is 0.833 litres. Divide the weight by the density: 1 ÷ 1.2 = 0.833.
Multiply the volume by 1.2. For example, 10 litres of liquid fertilizer (npk) is 12 kg and 50 litres is 60 kg.
